The service was spectacular. I have been to many places where I only wanted to pay around $10.00 for waxing, and was sat down in a fold-up chair and the wax came from the microwave. While it got the job done, it was not as good an experience as the nicer salon. The skin area was thoroughly prepped ahead of time to help avoid irritation and redness. The wax was kept at just the right temperature. I was lying down on what seemed to me a massage table with specialized overhead lights and magnifying mirrors and lenses to be sure of complete hair removal from the desired areas. There was soothing music and fragrant candles burning, and after the hair removal my skin was again treated with a type of soothing cream. It was a bit pricier than I would normally pay for a face waxing, but the quality of service was a lot better.

Call around. You definitely won't want to go with the cheapest salon around, or you may end up in a folding chair with microwavable wax. Make sure the person who will be waxing is licensed, or specializes in hair removal, and is not just a person at a nail salon who may or may not know what she is doing.
