the Price of Daycare for More than one Child

I pay $500 a week for in home child care for my 2 year old, 6 year old and 10 year old. Our nanny comes at 7 a.m. to wake the two older children and get them ready for school. She prepares 3 meals a day, 5 days a week. She gets holidays off and 2 weeks paid vacation.

Our nanny is a God send. She is very prompt, intelligent and warm with the children. She has a degree in early childhood education and she also provides tutoring skills for our school aged children. She takes our 2 year old to a play group twice a week so that she can help her socialize with other children her age. We trust her to be alone in our home with our children and don't know what we'd do without her.

You can't be too thorough when you're checking into the background of a person you're not only allowing into your home but also trusting to watch you children and help them develop. The things to look for in a daycare provider is someone who is warm with the children but also firm. You want your children to like her but you also want them to respect her and listen to what she has to say.
