Description of service

this class consisted of basic instruction, tips, and techniques on the use of oil pastels, as well as instruction on a particular landscape or floral to paint during class and keep as a memento of what we had accomplished during class.

Review of Service

This class was a lot of fun. I frequently take beginning classes about once a year just to dabble a bit in different arts and crafts, and the oil pastels class was great. It certainly isn't as messy as painting with watercolors or oil paints, and the finished texture and image is much different than that of paint, and thus there are different techniques. This class was a great refresher for me, and the instructor was excellent in giving tips and tricks and teaching great techniques to beginners. The finished result was something that everybody could be proud of--everybody's pictures actually resembled something recognizable, and I have a wonderful keepsake to be proud of when people come into my home and ask where I got the picture!

Tips

Take everything in stride and don't get ahead of yourself in a beginning class. There are certainly benefits to refreshing even the most refined skills, and oftentimes it will give a fresh new perspective on an old way of creating artwork.
