Description of service

I have diabetes which makes me not have very good sensation in my hands. My doctor recommended I get some acupuncture on my hands. I had 5 45 minute sessions for 500 dollars.

Review of Service

I went the first time and the person who worked on me didn't explain anything at all. He just started putting the needles in and told me to sit still. It tingled a little but didn't hurt. After awhile he took them out and sent me on my way. I didn't notice much after that first time and was really skeptical. The next appointment I got a different person and she explained the whole process to me. After I left that time I definitely noticed a difference. I had a lot more sensation in my hands. It got better and better until eventually I could make a fist for the first time in a year.

Tips

As far as I know most major insurance companies won't cover acupuncture even if your doctor recommends it so be sure to be prepared to spend money out of your own pocket. Try to find someone who will explain the process to you. It's a lot less intimidating when you know what's going on.
