the Cost of Breast Reduction

I underwent Breast Reduction. I am a male and had problem of Gynaecomastia which was of moderate type. I was low on morale and had problems with the odd feeling as the clothes fitted me awkwardly. So I went in for breast reduction via liposuction + minor surgery in which an incision was placed just below my nipple to remove a nodule like fat deposit. Then I was given drains on both sides of my arms and a compression bandage to help fasten recovery.

The service was excellent and was done by the same doctor who also did my liposuction of belly region later on. I was explained the procedure that is under local anesthesia I was taken into the OT. Since I had fibrosed nodules under my nipple area, an incision was placed and it was excised. The drains placed at the sites of entry of liposuction probes had a problem. The drain on my left side somehow came free after a few hours. It was horrible with some blood stained discharge flowing through it but it was quickly mended again. The compression bandage was very comfortable. Recovery was made easier by their compassion

Some surgeons do not prefer compression bandages and only place drains, I though found out from many sources that drains + compression bandages hasten recovery and decrease recurrence. Secondly, never expect surgery to totally cure all gynecomastia as in many cases 100% cure is not possible. The best is what is required and expected. Also, some surgeons prefer general anesthesia and some local, the choice is theirs and yours. So go ahead and get it done.
