Description of service

What a ripoff!! I received three reams of letterhead (1,500 sheet). And no logo!

I own a small business and most of the time I use my computer-based document-generating software to write my correspondence. My business is not the type that requires a lot of letter writing so it was not an important issue for my business plan.

Review of Service

I participate in a lot of trade shows and different events in the area and I have always used business cards for advertising. I have them strategically placed all over my booth area and it has always been very effective.

However, I noticed that when people asked questions, I had to scrounge around for a piece of paper to write down the information. Then it hit me. I'll use letterhead with my logo so if I need to write something down, I have a whole sheet of paper and my store information will always be on top. I thought I was being so clever!

I used a printer new to the stripmall where my store is. He used "discount" "cheapest price" "low rates" signs all over the place - it didn't even occur to me to get a quote!! I made the mistake of assuming that he was going to "type-set" the letterhead and that it would be on good quality paper and good very professional. All he did was COPY the letterhead sample I had brought him. I know this is true because there was a small smudge on the bottom left corner of my sample and that smudge was on all the copies he made! I could have done it myself for the cost of the paper, ink, and time.

Tips

Get estimates!! Ask very specific questions about what they are going to do.

Make sure they aren't just making copies of the sample you bring in.

Ask for a proof before they proceed with processing your order.
