Description of service
The instiallation of the cable box and connection to my HD LCD television was pitifully poor. I have been a customer of the major cable company in my city for years, but this time was awful! The man was supposed to bring the new cable box to my house and simply plug in the proper cables then ensure that all is working. Upon my arrival home I found that this was not to be the case.
Review of Service
While the installation of the equipment was free, there were other charges associated with the service. Some of the fees included a startup fee, equipment rental fees, and service fees. The remote control and cable box prices were raised without informing me. THe are not required to inform me of price raises but it would have been nice. The cable guy came to my house hours after the window in which the company said that he would have arrived. Upon his arrival he rewired other compnents of my living room including my printer and fax machine! The television was not setup appropriately, connections were misplaced, other components like my home theater system were disconnected, and many other items were poorly setup.
Tips
Be absolutely sure that you are home. Better yet I advise people to pick up the cable box or have it sent to you and then set it up yourself. The setup is incredibly easy, simply match the colored cables to the same color inputs on your television. Put in the cable card and power on the box. The box takes a while to boot up (much longer than you might think) but that is it!!! Avoid any hassles and get it does your way ...faster!
