the Price of Family Portrait Photography

The portraits I received are terrible, and look nothing like the example portraits we had to choose from. I was given three poses to choose from, which I chose a more close-up picture, and three backgrounds to choose from, which I chose blue. I was not given any proofs of the photographs, instead I just received the pictures back, and it looks like they were shot through a telephoto lens at the distance of five feet. They are so close up, and the pictures show every flawed facial feature. I wondered how the photographer would let it go and not shoot another picture since it was all digital, and would only take a few seconds. Worst of all, it took almost a month to receive back photos of a single pose. I am extremely disappointed with the photos I received and would not recommend the photographer to anybody I know.

Ask people if they have a photographer they recommend. Ask to see examples of the photographer's work, and see if they can show you proofs that day or shortly thereafter. Don't select an extreme close-up photo--while the examples may look good, chances are, the close-ups you receive will be as bad as the ones I received.
