the Price of Ballroom Dance Lessons

For valentine's day this year my husband surprised me with a ballroom dance lesson for the two of us. The cost was $25 per person for an initial consultation and first dance instruction.

The instructors didn't laugh at either of us or tell us we had two left feet, which was a huge plus as well as a boon to our self esteem. They did politely suggest that we should start at the very beginning, which we already strongly suspected anyway.

The instructors were able to break down the basic dance steps so that even we could understand them, and by the time the consultation and lesson were over, we felt pretty confident that we could learn increasingly more difficult steps with practice and one on one attention. All in all, the experience was fun, and although we aren't pursuing this on a regular basis, I would enjoy going back and taking a few more lessons.

There are several options available for adults desiring to take dance lessons. The choices run from small private classes to larger group classes. Call around, ask questions and get a "feel" for the studio before making a commitment. The classes should sound fun, not like a chore.
