the Cost of Carpet Cleaning

We received several estimates from different companies for our two bedroom apartment that needed a deep carpet cleaning on our moveout. Most of the quotes we got from bigger firms were well above this price, but this guy that we went through was local and didn't seem like he was interested in gouging us for a simple job; we had no furniture in the unit and we only had three carpeted rooms that needed cleaning.

The serviceman showed up on time. He carefully cleaned the carpet, removing stubborn spot easily. He didn't try to upsell us on anything, he just came in did his job and went on to the next job.

I guess the lesson to be learned here is to try local independents on simpler jobs. I guess if we had a nice home it may have been somehow worth spending the money to have a big name cleaner show up, but somehow I think we would've gotten the same results. Shop around for the best prices, look for coupons in the pennysaver or local mailers and compare and do this well before you are needing the actually cleaning that way you know what is out there and aren't settling for a name you recognize.
