the Cost of Auto Body Repair

After someone swiped the side of my car in a parking lot and left with no note or waiting to talk with me, I had to get repairs done out of my own pocket. I shopped around and got several free estimates from local body shops. Some of them ranged up to about 1200, but one place offered me an estimate of $750, which I of course then went to.

I was very pleased with the services. What especially pleased me was that they did not go over the estimate! I was expecting that the actual cost would be anywhere from $50 to $500 more because I've never had an experience like this before and was not sure what to expect. I was actually expecting the experience to be much worse than it was, but I was pleasantly surprised that going to an auto body shop wasn't the headache it can seem like on some of the TV shows and movies!

My best advice is to make sure you shop around and get estimates from everywhere (if you have the time) that offers a free estimate. You can save yourself a lot of money, like I did, if you do. I saved $450! That was definatly worth the extra time it took to go to that many shops.
