The price covers a one month membership at a professional auction aggregator. They monitor a variety of online auctions for the stuff you want and notify you when something you want becomes available at a price you're willing to pay.
Annual memberships are available at 10% off the monthly price and they will look for a single item for one month for $1.
Review of Service
It's a bit expensive if you only use it once in a while, but for me and how much auction stuff I do, it pays for itself a number of times over.
It is a bit quirky to use, in part because it covers pretty much every auction site out there, so sometimes I need to be clever with my searches to make sure I'm getting the right results.
I haven't had any real technical problems, though I heard that they had problems with redirecting to lapsed auctions early in their existence.
Tips
This won't help you actually buy the items or find new and unexpected thing, it just makes you aware of when something you want comes up. You'll still need to work on bidding strategy for buying popular items. And you'll also still have to inspect the listings to make sure it's actually what you want. If it isn't (meaning it gets the wrong item), be sure to provide feedback so the software can improve.
